This Studebaker was being restored elsewhere but after seeing our workmanship at the Classic Car Restoration Show at the NEC in November 2017 the owner decide d that they would like us to take over the project.
Following the car arriving at our new premises we quickly gave the car a thorough inspection to establish what work needed to be done to complete the project which included:
- making good previous work
- full preperation
- paintwork to show standard
- full mechanical restoration
watch this space for updates on how the car is coming along.
This vehicle was owned by Rowen Atkinson’s family as it was purchased for his son to learn to drive. The vehicle was rescued by Practical Classics and has been used to re-create the car made famous in Mr Bean.
Following shot blasting Matt Thomkinson from Practical Classics completed all the necessary steel restoration and fabrication work and then we were stepped in to do all the preparation and paintwork and then finished the car to show standards.
This was also the last preparation job at our old premises in Cannock and the first Paint job in our new larger premises based in Cheslyn Hay. We then actually re-built the vehicle live on the main stage of the Classic Car Show at the NEC in November 2017
We think it turned out great.
